EkeBot Privacy Policy

EkeBot ("Service") values user privacy and complies with Discord's Developer Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. This privacy policy explains how the bot collects, uses, and manages user data.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect or access the following limited information to provide the Service.

1.1 User Identification

  • User ID: Used to store and identify a specific user's settings.
  • Guild ID and Channel ID: We collect these to identify which server the bot should operate in and to retain settings for the channels a user has explicitly designated for TTS or translation.

1.2 Message Content

The Service accesses the text of user messages to provide TTS (text-to-speech) and translation features.

General message content is processed in memory in real time for feature execution and is not stored in any separate database or server.

However, if a user explicitly executes the "channel backup" feature, that data may be stored upon the user's request.

1.3 Voice Data

We monitor users' voice channel status (Voice State) to enable or disable TTS. We do not record or store any user's voice.

2. Purpose of Use

Collected information is used solely for the following purposes.

  • Feature delivery: Executing the bot's core features such as TTS (text-to-speech), message translation, and game information lookup.
  • Preserving user settings: Remembering a user's language, TTS voice tone, notification settings, feature-enabled channels, and the like.
  • Server management: Performing channel backup and restore features requested by an administrator.

3. Data Retention and Destruction

3.1 Destruction Principle

Most data processed by the Service (message content, voice data, etc.) is transiently processed in memory (RAM) and automatically discarded immediately thereafter, so it is not permanently stored even without an explicit deletion request.

3.2 Exceptional Retention (Compliance with Applicable Laws)

Notwithstanding the above, the following information may be retained for a certain period in accordance with applicable laws and service operating policies.

  • Service access logs: Access records for system security, error analysis, and prevention of unlawful use may be retained for the period specified by applicable law.
  • User settings: Settings a user has configured for smooth use of the Service (User ID, settings values, etc.) are retained for the duration of service use. (A user may reset them directly via /reset, etc.)

3.3 Backup Data

Channel backup data created at a user's explicit request is retained until the user requests deletion or the Service is terminated.

4. Disclosure to Third Parties

As a principle, the Service does not disclose user personal information externally. However, the following external APIs may be used to deliver features.

  • Translation APIs (e.g., Google Translate, Papago): When the translation feature is used, text data may be transmitted to the respective provider for processing. Data is used only for translation purposes.

5. Measures to Protect Personal Information

  • All collected data is encrypted and stored in a secure database.
  • No one other than the bot developer has access to the database, and access rights are strictly managed.
